Bio

Bretton is a values-driven designer who passionately believes in design’s ability to foster social change. He specialises in work for the cultural, community, environmental, not-for-profit and arts sectors. 

Through rigorous inquiry, critical design thinking, empathy and a human centred approach, he seeks, through his work, to find innovative and impactful ways to address important and pressing issues that affect us all. He also strongly believes in engaging in a trauma-informed design methodology and approach.

Bretton has worked as the Multidisciplinary Graphic Designer (Senior) at the National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse, been the Multichannel Graphic Designer at ClimateWorks, a leading climate change think tank housed within the Monash Sustainable Development Institute / Monash University. Has designed exhibitions at Museums Victoria (Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum), produced work for the inaugural Global Landscapes Forum (CIFOR), worked at internationally renowned design studio Inkahoots, previously been a Typography teacher at Griffith University, and was the Art Director of The Big Issue magazine.
